Q. Does a waist trainer actually work?
A. Yes! Waist trainers do work and they work very well. They work through different pathways to slim down your waist.
- Thermogenic activity: when you wear a waist trainer your body will increase its temperature where the waist trainer is located on your body. When your body gets hotter it needs to cool down and to do that it burns more calories so you loose more fat from the heat.
- You will sweat more: through the same process as above you will sweat a lot more when you wear your waist trainer. This releases bad toxins from your skin. But more importantly it makes your midsection look a bit drier and harder which makes it smaller. This effect differs from fat burning as sweat is just lost fluid and your body will replenish it while fat loss is permanent.
- Your waist will change shape: this is the main function of a waist trainer and it is that as you tighten the waist trainer around your midsection you will put a lot of pressure on that area. This pressure will immediately make your waist look smaller as soon as you put it on, but for the effects to stay even when not using the garment you will have to regularly use the waist trainer. Imagine shaping clay, you can change the shape by pressing and molding the clay to your desired shape. A waist trainer works in the same way.
- Diet control: If you have worked up to wearing your waist trainer through many hours of the day you will probably have meals when wearing it. The compression around your waist and stomach area will make you feel full faster when eating, thus reducing the amount of calories you eat in a day which in turn results in fat loss.

A. No, waist trainers are not bad for you as long as you wear it responsibly. The most common mistake for people who get problems using these types of products is that they start using them for way too long before getting their bodies used to wearing one. We always recommend to start using it for just an hour in the first few days and then slowly increase the usetime by an hour every three days until you get to your desired time. Another mistake people make is to tighten it too hard, especially in the beginning, you should feel the compression but no pain at all. And as your body isnt used to the compression a little lighter tightness in the beginning is good. Remember that it is better to start slow and get great results over a long period of time instead of getting good results faster but then having to stop your waist training journey from discomfort.

A. Yes, it is okay to wear a waist trainer every day as long as you are mindful of the time you spend in it every day and listen to your body. If you feel discomfort or pain, take a break!

We say that you will have to test these waters yourself and see how you feel, try by wearing it during a nap first to see how you feel before trying before a full night’s sleep. Sleep is one of the most important things we do for our bodies to recover, our minds to relax and to stay healthy so if you feel that using a waist trainer during the night impacts your sleep negatively you should stay with use during waking hours instead.

A. No waist training does not give you bigger hips, although a smaller waist might give the impression that your hips have gotten bigger. The best way to get bigger hips is lifting weights, squats, deadlifts and hip thrusts are exercises that will give you superb results.
Q. Does waist training increase breast size?
A. No your breasts will not get bigger from wearing a waist trainer. But some waist trainers will lift up your underbust making your breasts look bigger when you are wearing the waist trainer.
Q. Do waist training results last?
A. If done regularly over a longer period of time the results will last. But if you stop training completely the results will go away again after some time.
Q. Do you wear a waist trainer over or under your clothes?
A. These products are built to be worn under your clothes as they are designed to create a tight fit compressing your midsection. But some people have claimed to still get good result wearing it over other garments. If you try that make sure it is something that has a very slim fit so you don’t get wrinkles under the corset otherwise you might feel discomfort.

A. The usually recommended time to wait after bbl before you can start using a waist trainer is about 8 weeks. But this is one where you really should seek counsel from your doctor before doing anything of this nature!
Q. Can a waist trainer work in a week?
A. That depends, if you plan on wearing the waist trainer at the event in 1 week your waist will look smaller as you get results as soon as you put it on. But results that last without having to use the waist trainer are very unlikely in 1 week, especially if you follow the protocol we have written in one of the points above. If you go crazy and use it alot of time in that week it is possible but if you are new to this we highly recommend against this as it’s not healthy if your body is not used to the stress of wearing it all the time.
Q. Can I wear my waist trainer 24/7?
A. No, this is not good practice. Waist training is still training and your body needs to recover from that. We would argue that you will get worse results if you use it all the time as you sooner or later will get problems which will make you have to stop using it all together. Use it responsibly and you can do this for a long time and get great results, nothing hurts progress more than having to stop or take a longer break.

A. Yes, a waist trainer works even without exercise. But for best results it should be combined with a good workout routine and a healthy diet.
